Previous owner completed a frame-off restoration of this car a year
or so before I bought it in 2020. This car features a Gordini
crossflow engine with Weber 40 DCOE carbs, aluminum fuel tank,
aluminum radiator with twin fans, custom "pendulum" pedal assembly,
period aftermarket alloy wheels, and some suspension modifications.
It weighs 1430 lbs. wet, has an overall height of 39 inches, and
presents well. (I can provide further details of the cars
construction from the previous owner.)
The car had some teething problems, most of which I've corrected:
new Girling brake master cylinders and clutch master cylinder, new
"Hot Spark" solid state points/condenser replacement, and brand new
40 DCOE 151 carbs. Even with a hot road cam, the engine idles at
800 RPM and returns 29+ MPG. Sadly, the gearbox failed shortly
after the new carbs were installed and needs to be rebuilt or
replaced.
The car is in storage in Hood River, Oregon (about 65 miles east of
Portland). It has an Oregon "SP" registration and clear Oregon
title. I'm selling it, reluctantly, because I have to go back to
Texas and cannot bring it with me.
I bought the car for $18.5K and put at least $5K into it since, but
since it needs a gearbox I'm asking for $17.5K.
