I don't know why this occurred to me but I thought it might be helpful to those who are doing restorations to be able see how someone else did it. Our own Certified Lotus (I hope he still checks in on us from time to time) documented his restoration pretty completely. Also, he kept his car relatively stock so I thought his thread made a good one to index.

So here's how it works. I went through his restoration thread and found the places where he describes what he's doing. That was pretty easy because he starts with a description and then posts several pictures. I tried to categorize the area of the car he was working on and put a link to that post where I thought it belonged. I didn't keep to the manual categories but rather made them up as I went along so keep that in mind. Also, he would sometimes work on several areas at a time in which case I would dupe the link in the places that I thought appropriate. I didn't take time to read each of his posts so it's probably likely that I missed something but I think it good for a first shot. Because there were sometimes posts from others related to Certified's posts, it would behoove someone using this index to continue reading posts for more information. I focused on Certified's posts since it was his build but that's not to say there weren't good suggestions that Certified decided not to use or insights that could be useful.

It was an interesting experience doing this because it brought back memories and reminded me of some things that are worthwhile. And it made me envious all over again for how clean his car was!

Here it is. I welcome any suggestions on how this can be improved.

Good job BDA,I have spent a fair amount of time trying to ‘refund’ info on Certifieds resto.

I hope this helps, Exlimey. I think it would be great if those who document their restorations would post an index of their restoration thread. Turbo? Chuck? D’man?

Sounds like a helpful idea! Will try to do so when I am further along...

I don’t want to slow your progress on your build but I hope you’ll consider starting now, Turbo. You would probably be able to do a much better job and your describing some of the problems of initial disassembly could be helpful to a lot of people since they are probably pretty common.
