Aluminum window trim
« on: Saturday,June 16, 2012, 07:39:20 AM »
Is the trim around the door windows the same for all models of the Europa?

Or

Is the trim  around the windows in all the Europas the same?  would an S2 window trim fit a TC?

As I recall all the window moldings are the same. The only exception would be the very early cars (S-1) with pop out windows.

Mike,
I was under the impression that the door glass for the S2, TC & specials was the same part, in fact I thought the door assembly was carried over from the S2.  Whenever I've seen an S2 the doors look identical to mine although I've seen different front windscreen trims ranging from the chrome-plastic type to plain black rubber with a chrome plastic insert.

Thanks Lads.

During the life of the Europa in my possesion someone used a orbital type sander to rough up the paint.  I reckon for a re-paint.  But, they, the sander, didn't remove the molding/frame/trim.
So now it has sanding orbital marks embedded in the aluminum.............ugh.  Yes, they can be buffed out and re-anodized.

Hence my question on the aluminum bits.  I did get additional info from one the Europa loyal and yes, a type 54 Europa is the the same window frame.  Any and more info is always nice to have.
