Parting out two R16L's. So I have S1 Door buttons?
« on: Tuesday,April 25, 2023, 08:54:58 PM »
Bought two R16 parts cars.
Keeping at least one engine so I have a spare block, crank, etc., just in case.
Keeping at least one trans for spare internal parts.

If they are correct it looks like I will have eight S1 and early S2 door buttons?
I have no idea what door buttons or latches should sell for but hope someone wants them.

Being stock R16 I know the trans have little value and the engines not a lot more.
I do hope to at least break even on my investment.

And if any of you know anyone who actually keeps an R16 running I will sell the rest of the parts CHEAP!

Almost forgot the pic.

Not all R16 door buttons work on an S1.  The S1 has the lock in the button.  These have the lock separate.  Not sure if these can be used on an S1.

Looking at pics of original S2's it seems I may have a couple of original air filters.
Not sure there is any demand for them though.
I do have at least one spare head, again not sure there is any demand/value.

Well at least I got a clean oil cap for the red S2 out of these.
Also a bit of knowledge.
I now know the S2/336 trans mount is a stock R16 part which I had not seen explicitly stated before.
And the big glass overflow bottle my car has is also R16.
I think I also got transmission speedometer drive gears.
If anyone wants original R16 fan assemblies for their show car I have a couple.
Now to pull the other engine and trans.
Making some effort to find R16 enthusiast to pawn, er, sell off the remains too.
But not a lot.  ;)
