Garage / Re: How Does a Voltage Stabilizer Work?
« Last post by jbcollier on Wednesday,May 29, 2024, 07:25:29 PM »
Instrument voltage regulators come in two "flavours".  One that puts out 10V and the other then puts out a pulsing 12v.  It is very common to buy duds.  Sounds like your original one was working just fine.

Yes it feels good BDA .
I think the gearshift problem is also fixed but will road test tomorrow. I also need to watch the speedometer this next time. It’s amazing how many things you’re looking at when driving.
My garage looks lovely me a bomb hit it with my daughters E-bike parts laying around. New batteries on the way but when temps up to 98 f today with humidity at over 100% painting it looks bleak.

I had a whole day to reassemble the interior. Facia with gauges working and lower brackets set to accept the console. Harness tucked under the right side and A/C louvers not getting locked up.
Now to just mount the working fuse holders and ground bar on a closing panel under dash.

Remember to order the gasket/ seals that sit in the frame and install them before the pipes.
Sorry, about not answering, I had a bunch of errands to run and I completely forgot. I have 3 extra blocks, one 843 crossflow but without pulley and one other camshaft packed up .
Glad to help another S2 owner.😀

That’s a good idea. I’d just been thinking of them as wire suppliers. But the only socket I see appears to be this screw in type, http://www.britishwiring.com/product-p/c611m.htm I’ll have to send them a photo and ask if they have bayonet sockets.

Well, the good news is the pedal box is out. The bad news is it won't be going back in - the pedal box is seized and cracked, so another thing onto the list. The mounting plate was pretty much shot too, so not too many tears. Just got to remember to make sure the holes in the floor for the box and the seats are sealed when refitting to prevent water getting into the foot wells etc and wrecking stuff again.

That concludes the inside and front though, apart from the lower steering column section, which sounds like it may require removal of the steering rack. My cup truly runneth over with joy.

Stromberg or Weber? I have a spare Stromberg airbox you can have for free, just pay shipping costs. I'm in the US. The air box has some small nicks and dings which can be easily fixed.

Garage / TCS rear light sockets

Does anyone have a source for the bayonet sockets in the TCS rear lights? I need to remove them to re-chrome the light bases. But that is sure to destroy them. So I'm looking for a replacement. I looked all over Moss Motors, but found nothing. I emailed RD Ent, but haven't gotten a reply yet.
