I cannot seem to find the Reverse Detent Housing (B074F0212Z) for my TCS, 4158R, with a 5-speed (365). I have checked with RD and Dave Bean, and neither has one. I have sent an email to Banks, but have not heard back. I have a vague recollection from long ago that he is not good about emails. I have searched my barn multiple times, but have not found it. Any suggestions for other places to try? Or anyone have one they don't need? I will post in the Classified as well.
If I remember correctly, it is fairly simple piece that holds the spring and ball against the Reverse Indent Cam. I wonder if it could be 3D printed if an example could be borrowed?
Thanks, John

Richard Winter (banks) has sold his spares business to lotus supplies.

So try these guys,

SJS have one https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/A074F0212Z.htm (https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/A074F0212Z.htm) and the cover https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/A074F0213Z.htm (https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/A074F0213Z.htm)

Thanks, since my original post, I was told that SJ had it. I ordered on their website, that said it was available. But at the payment stage I got a message that they would send me a quotation if they have it in stock. So waiting to hear from them.
Thanks again.

I think that happens with all SJS orders. I actually ordered the cover last year....I just need to fit it...
-
That's reassuring. Thanks

Unfortunately, after Steve at SJ checked, he found he did not have any. I had gotten my hopes up since it was listed individually on their website. I will call Banks successor, Lotus Supplies. They are now the contact on Banks' Europa Engineering website.
I have not heard back from my email yesterday, so they may be continuing Richard's tradition.

These places get inundated with spam and enquires like, "If I put a particularly flatulent goat in the trunk, how much hp will I gain? Does it matter if it's grain fed or not?"
Fill out a parts enquiry on a related part and ask in the comments if the detent unit is available. That has worked for me.

Thanks. My email gave my car's serial number and the part number, so it should not have looked like spam. Busy today until too late to phone, will try tomorrow, but not getting my hopes up. Still wondering whether a scan and 3D print might work.

Found this while looking for something else:
Dimensions to make detent http://www.lotus-europa.com/manuals/misc/transmission/images/misc/detent.jpg
Page it was on http://www.lotus-europa.com/manuals/misc/transmission/tc_shifter.html
Hopefully this is helpful.....

TurboForce, thank you for the image with dimensions, and the page it came from. I was able to open both links, but if I tried to use the address, lotus-europa.org, it would not work. I went to lotuseuropa.org , but that does not contain what you sent. I do know that I have seen that page with the movement of the linkage before.
Is there any other diagram with the overall length and the length from the mounting holes to the face where the spring goes in?
Thanks again, John
-
Correction: I see that the length from mounting holes to face is shown, 0.960".
I assume the overall length isn't critical.
-
I think you're looking to go to lotus-europa.COM, not lotus-europa.ORG. This one page is probably the best single page for information about all Europas and what can be done with them: http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/
-
You’re right, I spaced out. Will pursue this in the morning.
-
It looks to me like this could just be a rectangular part that is .960 x 1.300 x 1.250" which would be much simpler to make.
-
I think the only outside dimension issues are that it fit under the plastic cover. I believe r.d. sells those covers if you don't have one.

I am having a used one shipped from Lotus Supplies, formerly Banks. Entire transaction via email, including PayPal. Got the initial reply from him just before I was going to call them. Should have done that from the beginning.
It was not "quick", because of time zone differences causing delays, but I wanted everyone to know that email does work with them.
Thanks to all who offered suggestions, John

Good to hear! Thanks for the report.
