Who here knows Kent 1600's/Type E trans?

Making some attempt to narrow my focus.  :FUNNY:
No, really I am!

Looking like I will be abandoning my Locost 7 effort.  :(
Which makes the Kent 1600 with twin Dellorto 40's and Type E transmission surplus.
No idea of current value for them.
Should just sell them on to someone who really needs them.
Could fit them into a Morris Minor Pickup as that would make it a very pleasant driver with plenty of power. Swap a T9 later for OD.
But that creates another long term project, exactly what I am trying to avoid.

The smart thing to do is to sell the Kent and put the funds into the Lotus.
For some reason I keep thinking, "Yah, just another $5,000 should do it".  :headbanger:

If I keep the Kent I need to move the starter to the right side and maybe fit an internal throwout bearing.
I have no idea if parts to do that are readily available at reasonable cost.
US knowledge of EnFO bits is practically nil outside of Formula Ford.
Anyone?

Looking like the Kent may in fact go into the Morris Minor.
Seems adapting a T5 is not horribly difficult, so OD is available.
Around 100 HP should make the Morris peppy enough for modern traffic.
The Kent at least keeps it British powered.
Ordered a starter from Dave Bean Engineering today.
Compression test and make it run before a final decision.

T5’s shift nicely and are fairly light. 4 cylinder ones have a fairly low first gear to get your v
Car moving and are less expensive because people want a V8 one.
The more I do the more I find I need to do....

Picked up what I think is a 2.3 T5 bell today so that I may see how well it fits and how to modify.
Not sure how low a first gear I need for a Morris Minor PU that will occasionally carry a load.
Also not sure what value might be for the Type E box I have.
Probable that only purist or someone working with a very tight space would want it.

In my effort to NOT get bogged down with more project complications I have decided to just bite the bullet and get a T9 out of England for the Morris.
They are about impossible to find in the US now, and overpriced if found.

Also using MGB front and rear suspension for bigger brakes and wire wheels.

My only running truck now is the Land Rover 101FC, very capable but also slow for longer trips.

The Morris is to become the year round daily driver and will carry up to 600 Lb. despite the small load space.

The hot rodded Morris sounds very cool.

So too, is the FC101. I dig those things. For the last few years I've been keeping an eye out for a rugged vehicle to use as a camper. The FC101 is high on the list, but good examples can be pricey. Actually, the heart really wants a Pinzgauer, the head says I should have a Mitsubishi Delica L300. In the end, the head will probably win.

Sorry, I heard FC101 and strayed off topic.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

Unimogs come available around here pretty reasonable, but shipping to you would be a deal breaker.
