Title: rear window TC
Post by: kram350kram on Friday,October 23, 2020, 05:20:27 PM
Wondering if anyone has made the rear window operational, swing in at the bottom or lean out on the top ? Thanks for any input.

That would suck engine fumes into the passenger compartment.

It is hard enough fitting it as a fixed glass pane.

I cannot think of any reason why you should want to make it open. There are vents all along the top.

Would it? Since the cabin vent exhaust is over the rear screen I  would have thought not.

As far as I can remember, someone tried it and found out.

my understanding is that the rear window installed also acts as a structural support, bracing the rear roof line, in addition to the rear bulkhead?   any modification should consider this.

I've not heard that one myself, but for anyone who's fitted a window on their own I'm sure they would agree that it's definitely hard work getting one in place and once there it's got to contribute to the roof panel stiffness.
