The new bits look great!
Is the new shift lever a press fit in the spherical bearing? or, is there means to secure? Just curious.

That sounds like you had a great first year. Well done. The restoration is a credit to you.
I’ve stripped the body on mine and am doing Fibreglass repairs now. Nearly there!

It’s a tight fit but yes it pushes all the way in to the shoulder and is then secured with a circlip

What did you paint the aluminum gearbox housing with?

Hi guys.  Well after 3 summers of almost trouble free motoring it’s time for this amazing car to move to a new home this week.  6000 miles has included 2 trips to the Silverstone classic weekend and the Lotus 70th Birthday trip to Hethel  where she was on the Club Stand.  She’s been in three editions of Club Lotus magazine and Absolute Lotus  magazine.  My only complaint has been the almost constant oil leak from the main oil seal in the gear box. I’ve changed it 3 times and the most recent fix has almost sorted it but still a tiny drip after each trip. I struggled with the gear linkage  the first year but once upgraded and a lot of adjustment I’ve since enjoyed all of the gears.  I have thoroughly enjoyed restoring and driving this car and I wish the new owner many years of joy.

Keep you eyes open for my new project which I hope to start next week.

Thanks for all your help. Gary

I'd keep her but if you're intent on selling, I hope you get a good price. She really is a beauty!

Let us know what your next project is.

Well having just restarted my project I've been reading your thread with interest. I have with mine an Else inlet and exhaust manifold and am planning to use them, but what are the chances of getting an Else rocker cover?? very small I guess, but it really is the centre piece of your engine bay! The whole thing looks stuning. I'm guessing you sold it now?

Just read the entire thread at a single sitting.
Exceptional job even if I would never put cup holders into a sports car.

Baffles me how you could bear to part with it after so much work.

Congrats to the new owner, he got a fine Europa. Hopefully he will sign up here.

Looking forward to the next project. Cheers  :beerchug:
