But what idiot takes the body off just to replace rear suspension and driveshaft parts?

So Mike Brewer could not fit in, as previously suggested.

Yeah, I think taking the body off was just an excuse to show everybody how the Europa (and Elan, Esprit, etc...) frame is so unique. He certainly made a LOT of work for himself to just refresh bushings, change u-joints, and tighten shift linkage. He could have fixed the stud without replacing the rear hub. The handling issue was clearly faked. He kept calling the lower links, "toe links" which they are certainly not.  The list goes on. Keep in mind, it's a TV show - and a reality show at that! So expecting anything more than the something for show, and for the lowest common denominator at that, is going to be disappointed.

So for me, it was fun. Kinda stupid in some parts, but still a kinda fun.

Apparently, it's only been moved (for some reason...) to here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcYxIL9ahLE

https://www.hotcars.com/fast-facts-about-marc-elvis-priestly-from-wheeler-dealers/

He comes from a good background, and can fit in the smaller cars, unlike some of his predecessors.

He probably gets paid by the hour, so decided to make a meal of it.

Notice they did not factor in his time, or tell the story about how the sale fell through.

Elvis sounds like a really interesting guy and he certainly knows how to use a wrench! I wonder if he is just the face of the mechanic on the show and when they did all the rest of the work, they had some "plain" wrench.

Found the link and watched the episode.
Sorry to say it reminded me again of why I do not watch any television.
Fake drama and unnecessary work, I fail to believe removing the body was really needed.
Oh, and £800 to repair an engine cover that could be replaced with New for £300?
Nice to see the gathering and that it was run up the hill.
