The winter slumber is over...
House projects and chores have kept me away. Having seen the recent activity of Bryan Boyles exploits... got my lazy ass up & juices flowing again.
There's always something to finish... rear deck gas strut kit needs doing and removing the secondary throttle assembly...
Added a cabin extinguisher to compliment the on board system for the engine bay.
But for now, some fresh gas...the battery is off the tender...Hello hydrocarbons!

Hope mine looks as nice as yours (well...with Dave retired...going to have to find another craftsman to do the body and paint...sigh) someday. Long way to go...one step at a time.

IIRC, the (original) rockers were self-colored from the mold. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) They are a metallic color, so matching (ie if you're going repaint/repair one...might as well do the other) will be an effort looking through color books at the auto paint shop.
I believe what folks are using these days is a high-quality (ie not Macco...) 'ultra black' single stage urethane. I know my old body craftsman used Sikkens, but I'm pretty sure that Glasurit or the high-end Axalta formulations would be ok. Somewhere I recall a chart with the DuPont (now Axalta) and PPG codes...maybe it's listed in the documentation archive or front of the hard copy manuals.
If you have a body panel (the edge of the boot or bonnet lid?) that's in relatively good condition, your local supplier should be able to match pretty well...I use (no financial interest, etc) Albert Kemperle Inc in my local area and they've been great at getting a good match. The front cowling of the plane below was painted last year...the rest of the plane was painted in '91...and the color match of the stripes is almost perfect. So, it is possible to get a good 'close to original' match.
One thing to realize...cross-checking from the nitrocellulose lacquer these were painted with at the factory with what's available today...well, you do your best! Good luck!

As Bryan mentioned,the rocker covers were a sliver metallic metal flake from the factory. In my case the rockers were sun bleached (having been a Texas car) so I decided to leave them as is, and not refinish them. They have a gold hue from fading and cleaned up nicely....

When I had my car painted, I just chose a silver that was close and maybe a bit brighter than the current color and the largest metal flake they had.
