Interesting… When they say, “scratch resistant” I wonder if they really mean more scratch resistant than plexiglas. The coatings on the Racing Shields sheet sound interesting. Anything that cuts glare and heat would be a very good thing.

Speaking of coatings, a buddy has an MG with, I believe it’s an anti glare, film covering the entire windshield and it’s legal. I need to get more details from him but it sounds very interesting.

I wonder how well those clear overlays from an earlier post would work with them?
Blowing sand and flung gravel are the glass killers here in Nevada.
After several years of owning my flat-bed truck I got three stone chips in only six weeks.
The last one broke the glass pretty severely and I have to replace it.
Not wanting to have to replace the Europa glass anytime soon.

Polycarbonate (Lexan) has many advantages over acrylic (Plexiglas), but it WILL scratch.

Polycarbonate is tougher than acrylic and will not shatter like acrylic can.

I used tinted Lexan for a windshield on a street rod.  ....It held up well, but the rod did not have to pass state inspection, and did not have a wiper.  ....It held up well for 4000+ miles.

"Scratch resistant" is a relative term, but I would be dubious about using it on a street car if the car is to be driven a lot.  ....I think wipers would shorten the windshield's life.

That’s pretty much what I expected. I imagine that film coatings would help with scratches, etc. Even though, I wouldn’t expect them to wear as well as glass.
