Although I prefer white, I like pinstripes on a TC. They seem to give the car more dimension. I'm not sure I'd like them on an S2 though.

  BDA,
I was going to comment to you that it’s not about color! :FUNNY:
I was going with the clean lines of the s1’s against the government’s fix for lighting.

The warts!!!! I don't know why I didn't notice!  :P

I actually don't mind the warts. Some people go to a lot of trouble to get rid of them and that generally looks great too but it's not something that would be worth the time or effort to me.

As for moving the warts below the bumper, I wonder if that would make them too low to be seen well...

I don't mind the warts either although perhaps I'm biased as my S2 has them. As for the colour, I love the blue with pinstriping!

You are so right BDA I like both, however the po removed them and used the wrong material to repair the holes. I don’t refer to them as warts , they set the distinguishable s2 world. the S1 was perfect without them but government got involved.

I don't really consider them "warts" either but that's what they get called pretty often. I think it makes a nice contrast to the way I really feel about them.  :)

I really don't mind them on the Twin Cam. They contrast well with the other headlights and and gives it a great '70s period style look.

I think the front of the car looks better without them. Same as the side light markers (which I removed). Simple clean lines are best in my opinion (which is why the Elan S1 is so good looking).

Let's face it... most old Lotus cars of any model look fabulous! Even some of the new ones.

I thought the S1 had the yellow/green hood nose badge. There can't have been too many S1 with the black badge. When did the Black badge appear relative to the introduction of the S2?

I found this progression of nose badges (http://lotus-europa.com/causer/badges.html). I suspect which badge an owner puts on his car it's as much the owner's personal preference as anything. While my nose badge is a newer one of the same design (green/yellow) as what came on the car, I have the 1978 World Championship plaques on the B pillar rather than the 1972 plaque to commemorate Andretti's championship.

My answer to this is more 2 fold.  I like the clean lines of the S1 or early S2 the best out of all the models.  So for me the white is a wonderful thing, but there is a big but, I do like the look of the Twin Cam Specials with the warts & the side skirts.  I wouldn't change a special other than to lower the front end, and maybe a nice set of 14 inch minilites.  The Japanese guys have that look dialed in.

Cheers BDA. I had seen that page years ago but long since forgotten it.
