Title: 1970 S2 cylinder head
Post by: 1970EuropaGuy on Sunday,October 14, 2018, 07:58:56 PM
Hi all,
I just bought my new to me 1970 S2 and have stared bringing it back to the life it deserves. I've been researching this on the internet and so far have no answer: is this the original cylinder head?

Thanks

Hard to say from just one photo.  It certainly looks the same.  What's the issue?

 Europaguy,
I found a picture of my original head from my 70 fed 821-30 engine for your comparison.

It's easy to check, but not from the foto. An original Europa head would have double valve springs (an inner and an outer) to be able to cope with the higher RPMs needed for the hotter camshaft. An original renault head from an R16, would only have a single valve spring.
