KYB KG9125 front shocks for TC
« on: Monday,September 20, 2021, 03:19:56 PM »
I would like to know if KYB KG9125 shock will work for a Europa TC. Does Anyone has installed this shock on their front suspension? It is used on Triumph Spitfire and GT6, I think. If not, please let me know what would you recommend.

Does it have the protruding stud for the roll bar mount?

Rockauto lists it as having a stud on top.

No. it does not. So it will not work unless you skip the roll bar.

I am a bit confused about this. A few websites show the correct top mount.

KYB does not list Lotus as a car they support.

The KG9125 is designed for the Triumph GT6, Spitfire, and Herald.

The short answer is that that (or any KYB shock) does not fit on a Europa.

Recommend...Banks/AVO or Spax, Gaz & Koni are suitable replacements.

All dampers will have (or should have) valving appropriate for their specified vehicle application.
Dampers are also 'tuned' to the associated springs . . more or less.

While it's probably quite possible to fit a particular damper to a number of different vehicles because the only constraints are the length and end fittings, it's likely the valving won't be correct.
