Is there any difference between S2 and twincam carpets
-
It appears there is a difference since Richard sells a different carpet kit for the S2 and TC (http://parts.banks-europa.co.uk/orders_frame.htm). They are the same price. I also checked AutoMat and they don't make a distinction between the S2 and TC but the listing is a different style so I don't think you can interpret anything about the kits themselves other than they are the same price (https://www.autointeriors.biz/Carpeting/2006_AutoMat_Carpet_PDFs/2006_AutoMat_Import_Carpets.pdf).

The TC carpets from Banks need a lot of cutting to fit.
I cannot think they would not fit an S2, as it cannot be bigger.
-
That being the case (and even if it weren't), if you're in the market for carpets, I would advise going to AutoMat (https://www.autointeriors.biz). I am very happy with mine and everybody I know who has gotten them has been happy with them, too.

I know about automat but I discovered the Canadian supplier and find it enticing to avoid the cross border shipping hassle. I just have to be comfortable with expected fit.
-
Who's the Canadian supplier?

Who's the Canadian supplier?
What he said. :I-agree:

They don't have a lot of europa stuff but door seal window seals windscreen seals

I was very pleased with automat. Still had some cutting and fitting but overall very good. When I ordered mine they said they had 2 patterns. A twin cam and an S2

I did a lot of shopping around when I bought mine and I'm still disappointed. I'm ripping mine out in two weeks and taking the car to an auto trimmer to make custom carpets. Some key things that are essential. Where the carpets meet the door seals they need to have vinyl or leather on the edge so you can rap it over the seam and lock it down with the seal. The floor area in front of the seats needs to be sturdy or fixed down otherwise every time you get out you twist the carpet and it bunches up. This is not an area for saving money and I deeply regret getting a carpet set.

Thanks for the comments. I still plan to purchase a "set" but will pay close attention to how that area fits and attaches. That seems like a potential problem for sure.
-
Two questions, What type of carpet do you recommend for a S2, cut pile or loop pile and should the edges be overlocked in vinyl?
-
I have ordered cut pile I think it is more original.
-
The original carpets in an S2 were looped pile.
-
You are correct Bob shows how long my memory is.

My memory isn't any better but I have the benefit of having most of the original carpeting still in place. I've replaced only the floor carpets (twice!).
