Does anyone have an S1 glove box pull in their parts bin that is in pristine condition and that you are willing to sell?

It seems with all the dimensions you should have no problem making it from a piece of aluminum and polishing it up.
re-chroming it is very expensive.

You must be retired like me...way too much time on our hands for fun little projects. I do have a plater in MN who does a fantastic job on plating aluminum and plastics; https://www.jrcustomplating.com Fair pricing and reasonably fast too.

It's probably not "good" aluminium. More likely what we call "pot-metal". Bit of a grab bag as to what could;d be in it. Platers don't like it because they never know for sure how it is going to react. You could make it much, much worse. Just a heads up.

So right you are. I don't want to risk it. I would prefer to find a N.O.S. unit but that is a pipe dream.
I had a wonderful plater in LA who did fantastic pot metal work on a few of my project cars but like all old masters, he retired. A dying art.

I had several items plated at Sherm's Custom Plating in Sacramento, CA a couple of years ago, though none of it was pot metal. I was quite pleased. https://www.shermsplating.com/ (https://www.shermsplating.com/)

I have heard about them. Might try them some day. Presently I'm working with a fella in Texas who works out of his house. Does pretty fair work, prices are amazingly fair and the turn around time is great.
