Off Topic Subjects / 3D printing.

I was "This close" to getting a nice VMC recently but just could not quite get it done.
I was gifted a decent beginner grade 3D printer in its place.
Fairly frustrating machine but I am getting the hang of it.
Turns out that PVA is tougher stuff than I expected.
If not for the layer lines it would make nice vent grills, it may yet make sand-casting patterns.
There are supposed to be some other filaments that can be smoothed after print.
The main benefit of this machine for now is that I finally have a motivation to brush up my G-Code and a way to confirm what I've drawn.

First real part I have made is a bracket to hold a dial indicator in place rather than setting the Z (Vertical hight) with a piece of paper and "Feel".
Running second one now just to have a spare, they are plastic.

I never did get a reply
Maybe we need to organize a group buy.
Selling several sets all at once might get him something expensive he is looking for?

You likely won't be able to get a report, and I'm not sure how much help it would be anyway.

I have an S1 with a S2 front end grafted on...that's definitely not on any kind of report. Nor the countless other bodge fixes in 40-odd years of ownership.

Any luck getting in contact Richard?
Just ripped out my S1's trailing arms and have discovered some impressively worn splines, had the reinforced Triumph puller out and everything but the hub just fell right off the axle. I'll probably need both the axles and hubs.

Looks like Banks has the hubs and shafts for £1k GBP (1 car set)...if he would reply to emails at some point.
I recall seeing some solution kit on eBay as well, but all dead links now.

I'd rather not deal with going too far from the book on these; pretty sure modifying the original parts is completely out of the question. Not enough material left in the hub.

Hi

It seems that in the US you can register a car as anything you like. Mine was a Lotu Champion with the Vin number 3940R.

Yes, you can remove the cover in situ.

READ THE MANUAL CAREFULLY

If disassembled improperly, you will drop a detent ball inside the main casings, not good!

I have tried numerous sites, and they all require 17 digits.  Even with a license plate nothing comes up.

At least they admit their mistakes.

That's unusual and refreshing!! I'm happy for the good news!

It's been a long time since I had a 365, which is what I expect you have, but I think you can get the end cover off without pulling the tranny out of the car. I think after you unbolt the rear mounting plate from the frame, you can take the mounting plate off the end cover and by raising or lowering the rear of the tranny I think you'll be able to the end cover off.

Be careful to keep the detent ball and spring for the 5th/R detent that lives under the little plastic cover. I don't know if you can get the spacer plate off.

It's not necessary to use a gasket. You can use a good RTV (room temperature vulcanizing silicone) sealant. Permatex makes a specific RTV for synthetic oils and one for gear oil. When I rebuilt my NG3 tranny, I asked Permatex which one I should use. They recommended the Permatex Gear Oil RTV which I used and it has worked great.
