As a previous Lotus Excel owner I was on the Lotusexcel.net forum. There someone did an google "add your location" map where each member could add their location. I thought this was neat idea. I created a Lotus Europa owners map where you can, if you like, add your location. Of course you can add as near as your town centre if you dont want to be to precise.
Anyway, here is the URL :http://tiny.cc/814d7x (http://tiny.cc/814d7x)
Please press the plus sign in the upper right hand corner and follow instructions if you want to add your location.
The member password is AddMyEuropa to be able to add your location
The map starts at Hethel, just zoom out to see the rest of the World :-)
For reference here is the link to the Lotus Excel owners location map.

I tried to enter my car location and it said authentication failed and that maybe the map was locked. What did I do wrong?
UPDATE: I got it.
-
I'm closest to Hethel. I win !
-
I added mine. This is cool :pirate:
But make sure you don't add your actual address might be a bit too much info out there for the not so honest crowd.
-
I added mine ;)
-
Mine also :)
-
I added my address*. Stop by if you can though with a little warning so I can make sure I'm in my best shop worn clothing.
* Stealing a Europa would be like stealing a Bozo the clown suit: not much value and everyone is going to notice if you "wear" it.
-
Added mine as well. It's cool to see the graphic representation of where we all are, spread around the world as we are.

Done....Outstanding reference guide!
PS...Hello 4129R...Alex, I sent you a message...ld

John,
Thanks for the map. I added my location. How would I go about editing my description?
-
You have to get the map admin (invjbo?) to unlock the map. Then double click on the marker and an editing window will come up.
I found this help information (https://content.zeemaps.com/mapping/map-overlays/map-markers-entries/) but it looks like you have to be the administrator to do a lot of it.
-
I've just added mine and afterwards it came up with a URL which it said you use for editing your entry in future. I've not tried it yet though.
Joe, could we make this a sticky topic or something other way so it doesn't drift down the forum and get lost for future members ?

John,

When you added your location, the application confirmed with a statement that you shoud save the URL that displayed in the dialogue. If you have this url you should be able to edit your entry. If you however missed it i think the easiest way is that I delete your entry and you can add it again with all information you want to.
As i got an admin password i can do some alterations as edit and delete. Maybe i should pass this along to the Forum admin so this info is kept closer to the LotusEuropa.org and its forum?
Best regards

It is now a sticky :welder:

Thanks Joe, now all we have to do is fill it up !

Edited to add:
The old map isn't working now (it is 5yrs ago ! ) and we have a new one on Google Maps

At the time of posting you can add/edit your own place markers and add photos, etc. Hence the security is lax, so if it gets out of hand then we'll restrict access to viewing and map additions by request only.

Patiently waiting for some activity, I look most every day for some fresh sprouts. ld

:I-agree:
If you look at the memberlist on the forum it states that there are "488 total members" which probably indicates that there are more that twenty odd members out there.
Come on join in

For the next person, if you're checking the map, make sure you're choosing the tiny.cc link!

John,
How do I edit my location and description?
-
Just joined and added myself to the map
-
Well now, that's an interesting name that I've seen before..... you wouldn't by any chance be local to me would you ? (Friskney)

Hi Brian,
Just down the road in Toynton St Peter. Feel free to give me a call if you want to meet up
Paul
-
That's amazingly close Paul, heck, I might even get to see another Europa driving on the road now !
I reckon when you're settled & started on the project I wouldn't mind popping round for a natter and look-see on how it's going. Likewise, if you want to compare with how things go together on the OEM version you're close enough to pop round here and take a look. I'll send a PM with details.

John,
How do I edit my location and description?
Hi, Sorry for late reply,
We are running a free version of zeemap which doesnt allow to send out edit-links to users. So i guess the best option is that i delete the entry and then you recreate a new entry with new updated information?
Best regards
John

You have to save the original message when you post. That has a link which allows you to edit your entry.
-
Does this map page still work? Or is it just me.
Gary

I tried to add my location and clicking on the link provided by invijbo, I ended up in the Tiny Url website needing to log in. Don't know what the problem is.
-
Yes that was my experience.
Gary

Here is a link to the map: https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=1771685
I hope it works, I have a login and it normally sends me to my exact marker. The link above should be a general link. :D
-
That works. Thanks.
Gary

I just tried to add my location and information but got a authentication failure . I can see all the pins but can't add mine.

:lotus:That's me added in sunny N.Ireland

I tried to logon to the map this morning and it says my email is not valid. Any idea who is the admin?
-
For whatever reason, I don't have enter an email address or a password. It doesn't appear to be auto filled either. For example, when I click on "Sign In", I get an empty form for email and password yet the map is populated with entries.
As I said on the other thread, I seem to remember that there was something not exactly obvious about how to get on it but I eventually figured it out so I'm absolutely sure everybody else here can figure it out, too!

I reached my limit of 100 views...now it's $19.95 or nothing.

I think it's total views. It gave me the same message. Bummer!
