I found it.  $1000 dollars is steep i think.  would you mind, what is the benefit? is it a 1000$ worth of better braking?

will a proportional valve be required for the braking system to equalize front/rear braking pressure?
andyh

I have a dual master cylinder setup with balance bar adjustment on the dash.
So in theory I should now be able to wind in some more front bias.
Then when I fit the bigger front discs I can wind it rearwards again :)

As to the cost, I doubt you can qualify the $$ against actual braking performance in any meaningful way.
I just wanted more braking power, this was a convenient way in my opinion to achieve that.
Could have engineered something from scratch (have done so in the past) but I want to drive this car, not spend most of my time with it in bits.

Just the chassis, but a sneak peek at what my chassis looks like as of yesterday.

That looks magnificant. Especially if you bare in mind that this is the oldest Lotus Europa Chassis in the world. :beerchug:

Ooh... shiny things hiding behind the rear wheels and a way to turn the heater off a bit more effectively.

Well, I did some work on the front suspension the last few weekends:

- Poly bush everything
- everything cleaned and painted
- new wheel bearings
- new stub axles
- new nuts & bolts
- longer and bigger wheel studs
- new ball joints

I just need to mount the hubs to the stub axles.

Some iPhone pics below.

Serge,

You have an S1, all that has to come off to fit the frame back and glass it in place.  Good practice though ;-)

Great contrast to the usual, modern, big, mostly grey and silver cars. Only thing missing is the crowd on the chairs, which admires and talks about this yellow car. :pirate:

Looking good, Mark. How's it running?
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

It's running great, thanks to new diaphragms in both carbs.   :beerchug:

I moved my truck out to the building where the lotus is staying. She got a windshield today and looks like a real car!

Here is a shot of the frame too!

Since the last photos the ARB has been mounted and I've mounted the hubs back on the front suspension and I've restored the front brake calipers. Some quick phone pictures.

Don't pay attention to the location of the brake hose and bleed valve, I was playing around with their placement to get some extra steering articulation. I think I've solved the problem.

I know I'll have to take it all off again, but at least I'm able to correct any errors while the chassis isn't inside the body.
