On the registry, earliest photos of the engine cover struts are on 4214R, registered 1/23/1974.

So looks like the 74 models had the struts.

I therefore expect to see them on 4259R and 4483R.

I have looked through the Parts catalog for the TC Special and don't see the gas strut option listed. Was this something that was done at the very end of production?

4688R had them.
I will look at 4483R and 4259R this weekend.
4129R didn't have them.

75032529P had them.

4483R & 4259R both have the engine cover struts, the rear centre map pocket, and had the cloth inserts in the seats before the rodents ate them.
