Best fence ever
« on: Saturday,June 24, 2023, 07:17:14 AM »
Saw this in Antigua last week where we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, had a fantastic time!

Met a bloke named Mark that said he used to work for the company that made shocks for Lotus and then Protech…he said they had trouble with the Lotus shocks because they were so long the springs would hit the shock body…

Congratulations on your 40th, Turbo!  :trophy:

The stock rear suspension had rubber spring covers that I believe were to help keep the spring from hitting the shock body. r.d. enterprises used to (maybe they still do) kits with Teflon sheets and glue to glue the Teflon to the shock body and protect it.

One wonders why it was designed to require such a long spring in the first place…
