« on: Friday,April 09, 2021, 02:05:21 PM »
Hi. My Europa is missing it’s dust shield that goes in front of the flywheel. Just under the oil sump.
Anyone know where I can get one?
Thanks

There is this at SJ Sportscars https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/SJ026E0012.htm but it may be for a Twin Cam. You might want to call and ask.

That looks like it's for a TC. You might try Michel at Alpine-America (http://www.alpine-america.qc.ca) when he get's back to work - in May I believe. Since he does a lot with Renault and Lotus, he'd know what you need. I suspect it's a plain Renault part and a Renault outlet might have them but I don't know if there is a specific one for the Europa which they might not know about.

Or you might be able to make one!

Hi Pete,

It looks like your car has a Renault crossflow engine.
I seem to recall the original 697 engine has a slightly different cover plate - different bolt hole locations.

Just above the starter there should be an engine ID plate riveted in place.
What engine type is it?
Perhaps start tracking the part down via Renault sources.

Thanks. I will take a look today. And post back.
I know I’ve seen 807 on some receipts for parts I have found. My auntie seems to think the gear box is from a Renault feugo.

Is it a 5 speed (originally it would have been a 4 speed)? Seem to remember it was, if so then she is correct - Fuego origin (amongst others).
The engine and box combination is probably the reason why there is no plate fitted - the original plate is unlikely to fit, it’s likely to have done many miles without one too so I wouldn’t worry too much. Mine  doesn’t have one and to date (21 years) I’ve never had an issue either on track or road.

+1 on you don't need it.

Just be careful when fording deep streams...

807 engine.

Ok I won’t take it swimming.
I may get my local garage to maybe do a makeshift one for it maybe.

Cheers guys

Or just make one out of aluminium sheet. I did for mine as I didn't have a plate. They are nothing special
