Dipstick lenght for crossflow

I Have run in a slight problem, both of my 843 engines came without a dipstick.
I do have an dipstick from a non crossflow as shown in the picture, this is far too long.
My dipstick tube is on the intake side, if there are different configurations.
Maybe someone could help me out with measurements or a picture.

  Interesting post .
   I do have the the original dip stick from the PO of my 843. I 'am currently using a dip stick from a 821 on the exhaust side. At least that is what can fit on my intake side, with dual webers.
  I'll dig around and find the dip stick for the intake side and get back to you.

Drain the oil and filter and fill as per manual.  That's "full".  Mark your dipstick.

Drain and refill is what i usually would do.
In this case i have a fresh engine which would need an additional crank, drain and fill cycle.
If possible i would like to avoid this.
Of course i could reuse the oil but i don't like the idea to use drained oil in my engines even if it was only used for cranking.

Dakazman if you can find the dipstick, that would be helpfull.

   Found them the longer one I’am using on the exhaust side. The shorter one was on the intake side of the 843.  The common factor is that the full mark is at 3 5/8” when dip stick tube is set .  The short stick had a dimple in it but I placed the short tube in the block for a reference mark on the intake side .
 I hope this helps. The confusing part is the markings on the two dip sticks , full is full but the low side differs. The 4 7/8 is to the bottom the intake side stick so the mark may mean 1 full quart low. Which would be approximately @ 1/2 quart low on the intake side

This helps a lot  i already made new marks on my dipstick.

I pulled my Dipstick tube out again and it is longer on the side that goes into the block, so that the full mark is actually in the tube.
I have no idea why they made it that way.
