TCS brake boosters

Hi all,

My TCS brake boosters are working great but looking rough.

Has anyone taken them off to give them a lick of paint?

is this an easy process?

It isn't difficult to take them off but keep in mind you'll be opening your brake system up and you'll have to bleed it again. I've never bled a stock brake system but I have read that it isn't a fun job and maybe not something you'd want to do if you didn't have to. Have you considered masking off the surrounding area and painting them insitu?

here's a link to an article/blog I wrote working on my boosters and bleeding the system (full brake job).  No big deal, so go ahead and remove, restore/paint, and reinstall with a system bleed.

Check the bores of the hydraulic cylinders carefully!  Any corrosion or noticeable wear means you need to replace or sleeve the cylinders.
