The long answer:
You may already know there are two versions of the wiring diagram depending on your chassis number. For wiring diagrams, I like to go here (
http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/) and scroll down towards the bottom there are color coded wiring diagrams. So you pick your diagram based on your chassis number (or just the last four digits and letter) check out your diagram. I checked both since I didn't know what chassis number you had but couldn't find your white/green wire. There were several purple wires, but none that seemed to be yours. I also looked up your wires in the Lucas wire color code (
http://www.jcna.com/library/tech/tech0014.html) and your white/green is supposed to be for fuel pump #2 or change over switch and your purple wire is supposed to be for accessories fused direct from battery. That didn't seem helpful.
Then I gave up and looked on my car (3635R) and found your wires. They weren't connected to anything. I would have thought they were connected to something like a key or door buzzer or seat belt switch since I disconnected all that crap but I didn't find them on the wiring diagram.
The short answer:
I'm ignorant and apathetic. I don't know and I don't care. My car runs. There is nothing that I want to work that doesn't (except for my courtesy light and I don't think I did a good job of connecting the bullet connector the last time I had the carpet board off).
I don't want you to suggest that you ignore a wire... But I will!
