Title: Group Fender Flare Question
Post by: LeftAngle on Friday,October 04, 2013, 09:38:51 PM
Today, my fiberglass guru and I decided to make molds of the fenders I designed for my car.  I wasn't planning on molds, but now that I'll be getting them, I'll have the opportunity to make more for anyone else who likes them.

If I'm going to pull more than the set for me, the molds will need to be beefed up.  Before going to that expense, I'd like to get an idea of how many owners might be interested in using these on their own cars.

Here's a few pictures of my car with a prototype fender attached:

I love it. I like the new body lines...absolutely amazing and there a nice line flow in the attached fenders  :beerchug:

I agree. The flares are well designed to flow well with the lines of the car. It's not something that I'm going to be interested in for my own car, but I think you've done a masterful job with the lines. Very nicely done.

Thank you all for responding.  And thanks for the votes of confidence.  If truth be told, I'm glad there isn't a flurry of owners wanting my fenders.  My idea is to have a unique vehicle and I certainly don't want to get into manufacturing.  We don't have to reinforce the molds, increase my cost or cause either of us more grief.  Most of the work may be done by the end of next week and I'll add more pictures as it goes along.

Hey, LeftAngle, were ya able to get any more done?? And yep, I'd be interested in a set. I'm in Conway, would a day trip to see your set up be O.K.? I could see an intake scoop in front of the wheel arch & maybe even a hot air exit for engine heat behind the wheel arch. Certainly don't know what you have planned for your final set up, but do you plan any kind of front wheel fender mods, maybe w/chin spoiler added. Wait a minute, I'm way ahead of myself. Dang. I'm interested. Rick
