Title: A big thank you
Post by: Runningwild on Tuesday,May 28, 2019, 02:31:56 PM
I want to thank everyone that has helped me during the restoration of my 1968 Non Federal Europa over the last 5 years.
All your comments and advise, either good or bad were extremely helpful.  However I’m not going to be able to finish the project. 15 months of experimental chemo have left me pretty messed up. I’ll be listing the new Alpine  America crossflow Gordini spec engine in the for sale section tomorrow and the car sometime this summer. I hope the car can go to someone that has the passion for it that I did. I have enjoyed the daily articles in the forum and watching everyone’s progress. It’s like a close family.

Runningwild, I'm really sorry to hear of your poor health! I hope your chemo is successful and you'll be on the mend soon. I'm really sorry you can't finish your project. In any case, I hope you'll stick around to monitor our progress and maybe post now and again. I know we'd all like to keep track of how you're doing.

Hopefully, there is someone who can take you for a ride in their car. If I lived near you, I would have been happy to!

Please keep your chin up and drop us a post.

HI Runningwild:
I to am so sorry to hear of your health challenges. Many of us have had heath issues because of the number of candles on our cake!!
Mine was a quadruple bypass after a flat line experience at 45(now 68).
It's at times like this when your family and friends(even on line) become important(more).
Take care
Bernie

Runningwild I was truly happy for you when you got your engine back and your search for a 4 speed.
I’m sure members here will give it a good home and complete it. I’m sure your decision was a hard one. My father went through the process also and beat it. Continue to fight.
Dave,
Aka, Dakazman

Runningwild, the important thing to remember is the memories of your enthusiasm for restoring the car.  That you didn't get to finish it is just another chapter. I am hopeful you will pass it on to someone who is equally as passionate about completing it, then you will have come full circle.

Be well and live the memories for they will provide the satisfaction of all you have done.

RunningWild...

Hang in there, I've been down the same chemo road since 2013.

I'm sure all the members here are pulling for your complete recovery. The main thing is to stay positive and keep fighting.

Good thoughts and support to you and family. ld

Tom,

I really enjoyed reading all of the mods you've done to your S2 over the last several years and sorry you couldn't finish the work. I'm hoping and praying that you can still beat this. We're all thinking of you buddy.

Tom,
Sorry to learn of your plight with Chemo. My Mother went through chemo. A co worker went through chemo. I know the strain it can put on your body. Due to my co worker's experience, I was checked, and had to have surgery, and keep being checked.
Hang in there, keep going, and know everyone is concerned and pulling for your recovery.

I hope and expect that you got a good price, Runningwild. I'm sad that you had to do it but I trust your baby is in good hands now and will be resurrected to a great car again!

Good luck to you! May you stay healthy!
