Hello.
I am missing the Heat Shield that fits under the rear luggage box. It is part number 046B2005 or 046B2007.
Does anyone have a spare for sale or can anyone tell me if I can just make one? I don't know what material is used or have any measurements so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi Bob,
I just have a thin sheet of stainless steel underneath the luggage tray installed by the original owner and it's been like that all the time I've owned the car. It's just a thin sheet of stainless and spaced roughly 1/2" away from the luggage tray floor by spacers to leave an air gap. It seems to work ok, there's never been any obvious problem on the fibreglass.

S1 Europas had a steel plate spaced as above with asbestos in the air space. A number of companies make high zoot heat barrier material, readily available at any high performance shop.

:Welcome:
From the pic it looks like you have a S2, I'll take a pic of ours & post some measurements for you tomorrow. ;)

Here is a pic of ours, ('71 S2)
The measurements of the steel plate are 15x20 inches exactly, with what looks like good 'ol asbestos underneath it... :o

If I ever get around to replacing the OEM asbestos on mine I think I'll try something like this:

I don't remember Lotus issuing any warning about asbestos sheets in their cars.
I know brake pads used to contain it, and some mechanics suffered as a result.
Take care out there.

Thank you all for the information. That helps!
