Title: zetec - which?

I see 988f smooth seam & wsfe raised seam runners on junkyard searches.
any particular years would be best?
if anyone could share or direct me to this info would be helpful.
I have not been able to find this info here or on the kb.
I know it's me and my search abilities.

Andy,

I used a 2001 Zetec from a Ford Focus.  You will need the starter from a manual transmission car if you can only find a automatic doner.

I'm not about to replace my TC engine with a zetec, but I must admit I'm curious about the modification and often read up what you folks are doing.

And Dean, that is a really good file with lots of very useful information in there. Wiring diagrams are often the worst thing to sort out afterwards or remember what you did a couple of years later and you've produced a great reference.  Thanks for posting.

I used a mid '90s Silver Top engine. I bought it from Ford. The reason I used that engine is I found it to be the one with the most modifications available off the shelf. That is to say, there are lots of after market parts. Also it is the engine that Burton Power (http://www.burtonpower.com/parts-by-fitment-type/parts-by-engine-ford.html) and Dunnell Engines (http://www.dunnellengines.com/zetec.php) had the most experience at the time I was doing my conversion.

I'm in contact with someone that is going to help me with the process.
