Stunning.

They are wasting their talents, they ought to be writing scripts for farces....

Just to show how completely un-co-ordinated DVLA are, with no internal communication, I received an email from DVLA dated 15th May telling me the registration number, I received the V5 document on Saturday 18th May, and I have just been advised by my MP that they received a letter dated 10th May from the DVLA complaints department saying the letter from Lotus was insufficient and I need to send an HMRC NOVA document, which they returned to me with their letter of 15th May.

I shall now telephone the DVLA complaints department to complain that they do not have a clue what is going on.

Lady who wrote letter to my MP is not in the office until Wednesday. Lady who answered the phone in the complaints department "We can only rely on the information given to us by that department". In other words they do not investigate whether the complaint is valid.

Garage / Re: Water in Fuel Tanks

My original fuel tanks leaked water into the tank/tanks through the top of the tank.  Rain comes in through the bonnet screens and lays on top of the tanks where the 1/4" lip doesn't alloy the water to drain.  A rust hole finally appeared.  I lived with it by installing a marine water/fuel separator filter.  The problem was resolved once and for all by installing new aluminum tanks.
I have  not had a problem with  ethanol causing excessive water condensation.

I have tested the tops by filling the 1/4" with water. None leaked into either tank after 2 hours. I took the drain plugs out, and the tanks were still completely dry.

Sorry guys I left out 1 word which then makes my post misleading . It should have said " I have isolated the cable as  NOT  the source.
The clutch cable is all lubricated and working fine .

I need to Lubricate the clutch release bearing guide tube in situ as I think the small amount of grease  I had applied after doing my clutch disc has now gone and it's binding somewhat.

Don't you have 9 cars, or something like that?  Is it just one of the many?

7 Europas. I had water in one other car's petrol tanks, but not as much as this one.

I will keep checking them if they don't start, by draining the tanks. The water is quite visible at the bottom if it is present.

 :Welcome:
 Jon
Glad to hear about your new purchase. Your decision to drive the car first before a makeover is a wise decision.
You will be in good hands here but we like pictures. I normally take a picture and email them to me changing the size below the the 100 mg size limit. Then open and save those pictures to your photo album were you can direct your attachment to post here.
