Introduction - New Owner
« on: Sunday,September 13, 2015, 09:53:15 AM »
Hi All, I have recently bought my first Europa - it was on ebay - the white one a few weeks ago, you may have seen it.  It is mostly complete but has been in the PO's garage for 13 years.  I am doing a full resto on it so will post as there is progress.  Current state as below:

Welcome to the Forum from Norwich UK, the home of Lotus. If you have any technical questions, you will get the answers from someone here.

It looks like an S2 to me.

Thanks BDA - I will.

4129R - you are correct, it is an S2 with an 807 Renault crossflow.

In case you weren't aware, there is an owners photo gallery to post pictures of your progress. I'm using the gallery that to document progress of my Europa projects.

Hi Nick, and  :Welcome:

That looks a seriously impressive workshop you have there, I'm guessing this isn't your first restoration project ?  It's always good to hear of another car being restored and back on the road. There was mention recently of how few S2's there are on UK roads these days, so another is always welcome to the party !

Hi Nick.  I'm at pretty much the same stage with my S2 Restoration.  Good luck

Thanks for all the welcome messages guys - I am certain I will have plenty of questions.

This is my second Lotus - I had an Elan +2 some years ago but it was already on the road so not really a resto, more of a tinkering car.  I have always had classics, usually old Fords (I also have a pair of MK2 Cortinas) but always loved the shape of the Europa since I was a kid and a neighbour had one.

Nick, I had better explain to those over the pond that "Beds" is short for Bedfordshire, a County just North of London, lest the US contingent think you spend most of your time in hospital or asleep.
