Cutting it fine though.  The Icefields Highway is one of THE roads:

And that was just the first day!

Beautiful pictures, JB!

I only drove my Europa in the snow once and that was coming down Pike’s Peak (in the summer!). The air was thin enough and of course the road was curvy enough that there was no way to go fast enough even if I wanted to but I didn’t think it was a good car in the snow. The windshield wipers are slow and too weak to push much snow off the windshield and it didn’t take long for wet snow to pile up on the the engine cover so you can’t see behind you.

Be careful out there!

OMG, that is no joke winter is coming. We have two more 90 degree days before the 80's. How cold does it get up there? It looks beautiful up there.

How cold does it get here? So cold that you find politicians with their hands in their own pockets.

It’s middle of the week in the off season, and very early in the morning.  I like driving at night.  Last night I got up at 4 and hit the road.  Being the northern latitudes, sunrise wasn’t before well past 7.  Be doing the same tomorrow.  Last day of the trip though, sigh.

I thought I was supposed to have MORE free time after retiring, not less!

So, how cold was it?  1/4" of frost on the car this morning.

Glad I fit a 180° thermostat before taking the trip!

John, love the fact that you are using your Europa before the road salt drives you to put her away for the winter. The headlight covers really add to the streamline look. Where did you get them and how are they mounted?

Banks (Lotus Supplies now) has them.  I got mine from Kelvedon and I’m sure they got them from Banks.

You're on your own fitting them.  I trimmed mine to fit exactly but forgot to account for the seal (duh).  So thy fit a bit high.  Another thing to sort… eventually.

When my brother retired, he got so busy he had to put a lad on.

Dramatic pics, those . . very nice.
Whenever I've stopped to take pics of spectacular scenery, the photo never seems to do it justice. I'd be a mediocre photographer at best but I suspect it has something to do with being there and showing someone else a pic of being there.

Oh, and it's 29°C here (84.2°F)

I have an external temp gauge in the Europa.  It useful for know when there might be frost on the roads.  It read 20°F in one of the passes.  Over the top of the pass, say 300 yards either side of the summit, the road stopped being wet and my sphincter was decidedly puckered.

Nice pictures.  Great to see.

For purposes of resizing photos so they can be posted by phone to somewhere like this forum, I recommend the Android app Lit Photo.  It's simple and pretty straightforward.

I don't understand the entire relationship between resizing, compressing and so on; just haven't spent the time, but I can easily re-size photos to max 800 pixels wide and post from the phone and they're perfect for the forum.

It means if you're in the field you're not using too much data, too.
