Title: KM Request for Type 47 Experiences
Post by: surfguitar58 on Wednesday,May 02, 2018, 09:26:52 AM
Not sure if anyone on this forum owns a bona fide Type 47, but just in case, Keith Martin's Sports Car Market is looking for feedback. Appears to be in good company, judging from the list below.

Saw this too late to contribute, otherwise would have been happy to.   Sold my real 47 (47-GT-74) recently after 9 years of happy ownership, including working my way up to an outright race win at the SVRA Watkins Glen Vintage Festival.  Now happily tooling around in my recently acquired Europa TC road car...and trying to get my Elan 26R replica back on the track...

Congrats on your SVRA win!  :trophy: Would love to see some pics of your 47. My understanding is that the Hewland xmission made these cars a handful on the street.

Congratulations on your SVRA win! :trophy:

I second what surf said about pictures! I know lots of us would love to see some!

Surf, non-synchromesh, straight cut gears would be very difficult - and noisy - on the street. I've never tried it, but I suspect it wouldn't be worth the effort.
