Title: Type-352 date stamp?
Post by: Pete Gossett on Thursday,November 22, 2012, 02:34:26 PM
I'm in the process of cleaning off my Type-352 of the 40-years of grit and grime it's accumulated, and discovered a date stamped on the bottom, near the bellhousing which reads :"1 SEPT 72". I presume this would be the build date from Renault? The car this came from is a '73 TCS, so that would seem to make sense to me.

Pete,

date stamps and casting numbers are a hobby within a hobby.  I always investigate numbers on parts, it is a thing I enjoy.  Nice find, I will look on my trans housing as well.  I think the bell housings have stamps as well.
