Jays is right around 6 feet
Width is not a problem plenty of room there, height is the issue I'm 5'9" and my head is nearly bumping the ceiling and my legs are bent and almost hitting the steering wheel
I am looking for a racing seat that will give me more room

That's interesting. Assuming that my TC and your S2 originally had similar seating space, it sounds like the modifications to your car reduced the seating space. I'm 6'2" and when I was in college, I fit pretty well in my car. I always had plenty of leg room. My hair would brush the headliner but I never felt really cramped. I could also push start the car by myself which, of course, required me to jump in the car while it is rolling. Now that I'm older, I'm glad I put a bubble in the roof and there is no way I could jump in my car now! No doubt I'm not nearly as flexible as I used to be!

It does sound like Jay will have fold himself to get in your car. Another reason not to miss the video!  ;D

It also depends on where on your body those extra inches are located inches.  I am blessed/cursed with short, relatively speaking of course, legs and a long back.  Not the best combo for an S1.  I fit just fine as long as the seat cushions are removed.  I'll have to have new ones made up to be quite a bit thinner,

 :coolpic: I like the placard.

I think the TCS was designed to fit a skinny 5'10"/1.77m guy with abnormally long arms and legs. :)

Remember they made the floor quite a bit thicker and changed the dash which lowered the steering wheel a bit

I was a bit surprised the put all that extra thickness in the floor. I can see how it might be a bit more cramped. IIRC, they expected to get a bit more leg room when they used the drop down pedals. Did that not work as well as they hoped?

The drop pedals actually seems to have made less room

I also scratched my head when they thickened up the floor because the S2 had less interior space than the TC IIRC and then they go and reduce it !   However they could easily get it back with thinner seat bases and seat frames, so it's swings and roundabouts I suppose.

I once read that Colin Chapman designed cars to fit him and the same article said he was 5'8". I don't know if that's true or not, but I'm 5'8" and the 60s Lotus's are a perfect fit for me  :)
