I have been using the Kumo Solus tires on my Elans, Seven, and Europa and while they are not as good as today's high performance tires, I have to believe that they are so much better than the original tires that came with the car or what was available back in the day. Plus they come in the sizes we need and are dirt cheap. I don't track my Lotus, but do drive with spirit and the tires are very predictable. It carves turns at speed more than adequately and when it does lose grip, it is very controllable. For a street car, you can't beat the performance for the price. You can get them at Tire Rack here in the states.
