My new tool
« on: Wednesday,July 18, 2012, 03:36:14 PM »
I always seem to be a little late to the races.  I just found a nice tool to use.  Old stuff to the pros......that is why it is new to me.  It converts MM's to Inches to fractions.  Digital readout and measures inside and outside.  Technology is amazing.  Now that I am working on a Marque that seems a mystery at times I am finding this tool extremely useful.  Cost was $50.00.
I can't believe this has escaped my notice before.

I've had an old fashioned one where you have to work it out for a few years now which is not as easy to use as a micrometer but a bit more versatile with having a larger range and doing both inner & outer diameters. Then last year I saw some really cheap digital ones on Ebay and thought "why not, it's cheap enough to leave in the workshop all the time ?".

Yep, pressing "zero" and then simply reading off the numbers is definitely the way to go !
