They look to be lightly modified.....space shuttles.

Joe,
 First impressions...# 12 looks like it was cobbled together, don't like the mirror location or mountings. The rear fender seems be lifted and suspended by aero wash...the wing and single pylon are also twisting at speed.

#33 The bodywork is cleaner and well thought out. The ducts and double wing pylon look right and effective. The mirror is planted high in the sight line to reduce fatigue. ld

My first thought was that they were Formula cars with an Europa shell put on.

The white one started life as a Lola sports 2000 racer, I believe.  The latest pictures I've tracked down have it painted yellow with somewhat more opened-up rear wheel arches and living in the UK.  I even managed to track down a name, but I'm not sure if he's the current owner.  The red one was running in the same series, but I haven't tried to research that car at all.
