Anyone interested in a Twin Cam steering wheel? leathers not perfect but there are no splits, just looks a bit dry. It's currently in my car but I'm considering switching to an aftermarket dished wheel

Still interested in the rear shocks

I'll let you know, I'm just doubtful I'd have an easy time moving just the fronts later if I split them up

Hi Simon.
I just sent you a PM

I met this car and its owner at a British Car Day in Boston a few years back. Nice older fella, probably losing momentum on the rebuild. At the time, the car was mechanically solid. “Almost ready for paint” may be a bit of a stretch, and what’s up with that dashboard? Still, a good resto candidate, especially if you can talk him down a bit on the price.

The stock material absorbed moisture and promoted corrosion.  RD sells a closed-cell foam alternative that is much better suited to the application.

The "carpets" listed in the parts manual were standard fitment and are felted sheets that were glued in place.  They also "sealed" the holes in the t-section though which the steering column, pedal push-rods, etc went through.

The speaker went in the "cubby" between the two seats.

Be very careful not to put too thick a material on top of the metal chassis or the two bolts holding the seat belts into the centre tunnel will not line up, and you will end up drilling bigger holes through the oval bobbins cast into the shell, which is not ideal.

I used thin underfelt.

I have restarted my ground up restoration project after pausing it for >10 years.
I'm starting to get close to putting the body back on the chassis and I remember there was some form of padding between the body and chassis (down the central tunnel) to stop vibration. Is there something specific to use/people recommend?

Just a bit about me, I'm ... an incurable optimist....

Best wishes,

Jeff
A very important trait for the aspiring Europa owner. A trait shared by many on this board, especially those of us who jump into their Europa and head off for a weekend road trip without a second thought.
Welcome to the forum, Jeff. Be sure to show us some photos of your new project when it arrives. Cheers  :beerchug:

But why can you find the carpets listed in the parts manual? http://www.lotus-europa.com/manuals/s1parts/b/b4.htm

Also, regarding the radio, do you know something about the original location of the loudspeakers?
