Europa sunroof?
« on: Saturday,November 09, 2013, 11:05:49 AM »
maybe this is a dumb bunny question, but does anyone know if any model Europa ever came from the factory with a sun/moon roof?  seems like a good thing with a car where the windows don't open all the way.

I've seen a few pics of those lately and wondered if that was a PO add-on or factory option.

thanks
Rick

All the ones I have ever seen were after market. Nothing from the factory.

I'm with Joe.  Only after market.

Back in the 70's, before I ordered and fitted my glass sunroof to my Europa, I contacted the Lotus factory and asked if there was a recommendation for any sunroof and they told me no. They also commented that it was not something that they would advise.
Back in those days the only sunroofs being fitted to Europa's was the small canvas type as used on the Marcos etc.
Regardless, I knew that the glass roofs available in the USA had a rigid frame so would actually add stiffness, so I placed my first overseas order! Really glad that I did :)
