When you add around £15,000 to restore properly, doing all the mechanical work yourself, that makes a very expensive car.

I’m always amazed at the number of Europa’s that are shipped to Europe from the US. What was the ratio of sales to the US? It must have been very high.

Virtually no S1 Europas were sold in the UK.

"Recently imported to UK, from dry zone of USA"

One would think the owners could have done better selling left hand drive in the US without the shipping costs and whatever import duties you guys have over there. Advertised prices seem a little higher in the UK. Do actual selling prices correlate?

For the right price, these would be awesome resto candidates, or (purists forgive me) platform for a type 47 clone conversion.

According to the registry, e.g. TCS,

Type P UK 651

Type Q Europe 390

Type R USA 2026

Total Manufacture, around 642 in total S1s, a massive 4294 S2s, 1567 TC, and 3383 TCS (of which 2026 TCS went to the USA)

So about UK 1:3 USA.

Out of interest, were any S1 cars ‘intercepted’ by UK buyers when they were first sold?
I believe that they were all released for ‘export only’ (though I’m not sure..)

Only 2 listed now to UK owners.

1 is listed to Richard Winter (Banks Europa).

The other was in a bad way, and sold for spares only.
