Hi

Thanks, that looks like a good call. Do people ever paint them body colour so that they "disappear"somewhat I wonder.

I got mine from Banks.

3 bolts, 5/16" UNC hold it on.

All the calculations and set-up you used are to get a ROUGH starting point.  You ALWAYS have to tune after that.  What engine and level of tune are you using?

Federal spec cams, gas flowed head, free flow exhaust, probably producing 125 BHP.

Hi Guys

Another question please,

My car does not have a chin spoiler. But it does seem to have the holes for one. Did all TC's and TCS's have chin spoilers? I am guessing yes, which leads me on to the question, how hard to find are original ones?

Many thanks

Hello Peter

I'm so pleased you have got in touch. We are close cousins indeed haha. Thank you for the suggestions about the car, all very useful information. I am compiling a list of to do's and will add your items to the list.

With your car I notice that the front ride height looks pretty much where I would want mine to be. How did you achieve that?

All the best

Berni

Bryan, how much did you have to strip down the bases for the re-chromer? It looks like the wires are out in your picture. could they mask the rest? I'm sure each shop has its own requirements, but I thought I'd see what your experience was.

I agree with BDA. Measure the depth with the emulsion tube out idling. Should be 25mm. Just measuring the float with cover off doesn't account for leaking needle valves or excessive fuel pressure among other factors.

You might discuss your problems with Keith Franck here: https://vintagetechnologygarage.groups.io/g/sidedraft. He probably knows more about Webers than anyone.

I’m not saying that your fuel level is wrong but I prefer to measure it in situ by taking out an emulsion tube and with the fuel pump running or shortly after shutting down the engine, measuring the distance from the ledge where the tube is screwed in to the fuel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meaGMoH4Pmw). It should be 25mm.
