Windshield washer?
« on: Monday,March 18, 2024, 01:05:31 PM »
I do not see a pump in the wiring diagram or on the car for the washer fluid …. Did I read somewhere you pull the turn signal lever to squirt water    My Mk 1 Capri had a foot pump which was different…
The more I do the more I find I need to do....

The pump is screwed to the back of the dash to the right of the ignition key behind the console cover. You push in on the right hand stalk to turn on the pump. Here is where it is on each of the TC wiring diagrams.

I must have missed it on the wiring diagram and it seems like a crazy place for a washer pump!!

It's  no worse than the manual pump on the back of the wiper switch in the dash on the UK Europas!

I wasn't able to make out your VIN from the pictures you posted. What is it?

I would use the color wiring diagrams from this page (http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/#electrical) scroll down to the "Updated and Colorized Wiring Diagrams" section. There are two diagrams for Specials depending on the VIN.

[...] and it seems like a crazy place for a washer pump!!

I'd say placement is deliberate.
As the years roll by, the plastic tubing hardens and leaks which drips water onto some vital electrical component, thus transferring the blame onto Lucas . . .  ;D
