A Spring like 47 degrees in the garage this morning ….  :-\

Cleaned and painted the “frunk” on Saturday and my back is still complaining…  :o ...cleaned up front wiring harness today and installed relay for the fan.

Your “T” section is somewhat crustier than mine was!

The firewall/bulkhead behind the seat is like particle board ….I will be replacing mine with something better at some point!

Garage / Re: Hard starting...timing issue?
« Last post by Fotog on Monday,March 25, 2024, 12:27:16 PM »
A 4-port Europa TC is set to 12° at idle and has 14° of mechanical advance which gives a total advance of 26°.

A 2-port Europa TC is set to 5° at idle but it has a vacuum retard unit so the timings are probably similar.

I always start with valve clearances.  Stromberg carbs (and SUs) are very sensitive to tight valves.

To what are you referring, with "2-port" vs. "4-port" TC, JB?  I honestly don't know what you mean!

Here are some of the seat.  It looks salvageable-ish.

What is behind the carpeting along the back of the seat.  I pushed on it gently and it gave way. I think I felt fiberglass after three inches beyond that.

Just to wrap this up, what ended up fitting was:

Front: 5/16-24 x 1-1/4"
Rear: 5/16-24 x 1-1/2"

Thanks for the words of encouragement and advice.

I spent all weekend installing refreshed control arms and new dampers in my miata so I only had time to remove the driver's seat which was a doddle because the runners had rusted away and the seat lifted right out.

Attached are some photos of the t-section of the chassis.

Oh, I binned that chassis and modified an early S2 chassis to suit.

[...]  My PO chassis repairs were, umm, interesting to say the least:

Yes, interesting that the welds and the brazed repairs seem to have actually held up OK.

I hope you have success with that change.  It's interesting to hear what you're doing with the car and especially gearing, in pursuit of racing success.  Thanks for posting!

Engine is out after building a gantry frame from definitely not untreated 4x4s, surprisingly easy with the harbor freight load leveler. I might make a post about this setup as it does pretty well in place of the proper lift sling tool. Was very surprised that the engine (w/o head) and transaxle balance like this.
