I absolutely love the pure lines of the S1. I would like to have a 47 replica in the future.

That is very unique, actually. I like those flares. Our car used to have similar ones, but they had to be replaced in order to get the FIA historic technical passport. But now I'm thankfull for that, because this type of flares reduces the useable length of the dampers.

Questions are:

What's up......with the Mermaid (I'm with Brian)?

Why are those holes in the decklid one picture and not in the other?

Where did Mark get those pictures?  Mark?

The Mermaid looks pretty good........I wonder what the decklid is doing tonight.................?

What happened to the guy that posted the original note?

I don't know much.  I pilfered the photos from the web.  I think they were on the Yahoo site.  I don't think those are holes but part of the airbrush paint job.  I think the Haico is the current owner and he has removed the deck lid as part of restoration.  I think I remember him saying the mermaid deck lid still exists.

Hi
sorry didn't read the post for quite some time.
One of the previous DPO's has decorated this nice s1 with a mermaid on the back. Initially it was a very colourfull work of "art", but later the whole car was painted white. The original colour was yellow, but the car was also red at one point.
Because of this lovely lady on the back this car is known as the mermaid car, equivalent to a questionable taste.

The original decklid has been restored and the mermaid is now looking down at the car from the ceiling. The wide flairs have been removed, saving several kilo's of foam and fiberglass. During the restauration it turned out the car had a few bumps, mainly front right, back left and at the T-section underneath. All has been repaired, the frame was removed and restored. Currently the car has a rolcage installed but that is going to be part of another story. :)
