Europa #174 Restoration
« on: Saturday,March 22, 2014, 09:13:34 AM »
Hello. Will soon start the restoration of my Lotus Europa s1 -67.
It will be mostly original but with a Kawasaki 900cc engine instead of the Renault thing.

Sold another car today to make room for the lotus in the garage.
Have one more car to finish before start working on the Lotus but lifted off the body and testfitted the engine today.
The frame has very little rust on it and will be sandblasted and powdercoated.

The body is in very bad condition and will need many hours of work.

Hope that you people here can help me with pictures and advice along the way.

Must have been extensively modified if you can lift off the body on an S1.

Cool project, Daniel. I'll be following along with this build. I've contemplated the idea of a bike engine in a Europa. Curious to see how the drive train is sorted. Cheers.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

Yes the body is cut open to separate it from the frame. The body is in very bad shape and also has a s2 front with the round blinkers. It has probably been crashed and the repairjob has started in the 1980s and never finished. Will post more pictures when more work gets done.
